Immigrant Resource Centre (Vancouver Campus)
Éducacentre college offers to all francophone and francophile newcomers a resource centre specifically designed to meet the needs of people in the initial stages of settlement. The Centre provides everything you need to start you off on the right foot in your new province or country: From forms and information on how to obtain documents that are essential for people living in British Columbia to general information on housing, public transportation or the health care system.
Job search assistance services for immigrants
A job counsellor for immigrants will support your job search by:
- giving you tips on the business culture in B.C.
- helping you understand the situation and customs of your occupation or profession, in your new environment
- informing you about the job market and provincial trends
- giving you support
You also have free access to all the tools you need for effective job search: the resource centre (including a job offer bulletin), a computer lab, a telephone, a photocopier and a fax machine.
Foreign credentials equivalence
The college's guidance counsellor will enable you to identify the provincial equivalent of your foreign credentials, the relevant professional associations, and the process for becoming recognized in your occupation or profession.
Learn English for free
Educacentre college offers English courses of all levels for adult francophone immigrants in the ELSA program (English Language Services for Adults). The program is designed especially for immigrants and financed the Ministry of Immigration and Welcoming Communities of British Columbia.
